ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq - Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani met with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace in Paris on Monday, with the two sides set to discuss Paris-Erbil ties and developments in the Middle East.
President Barzani arrived in Paris on Sunday on an official invitation by French President Macron, just a few days after he met with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey, and Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
Macron and Barzani are set to "discuss the relationship between France, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region, as well as their collaborative efforts."
The two leaders will also "share insights on counter-terrorism initiatives and the current situation in the Middle East."
