Larijani called for forming "a joint operations room" to "unsettle the masters of [the Zionist] entity"

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq - Ali Larijani, Iran’s national security chief, on Saturday warned Islamic governments against “speeches without practical results” at the upcoming Arab-Islamic summit on the recent Israeli attack on Doha, calling for more concrete measures against Israel.

Israel on Tuesday conducted airstrikes against Hamas officials in Doha in an unprecedented attack on the Palestinian militant group's leadership in the Qatari capital, ushering in a wave of regional and international condemnations.

Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Saturday that Doha will host an emergency Arab-Islamic summit on Monday, adding that “the summit will discuss a draft statement on the Israeli attack on the State of Qatar submitted by the preparatory meeting of Arab and Islamic foreign ministers, which will be held tomorrow Sunday.”

“Holding an Organization of Islamic Cooperation conference filled with speeches without practical results (as happens in Security Council meetings) is in reality equivalent to issuing a new order for aggression in favor of the [Zionist] entity, wrote Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, in a post on X.

“At the very least, form a ‘joint operations room’ against this entity's madness. This decision alone would be sufficient to unsettle the masters of this entity,” urged Larijani, arguing that such a measure would push Israeli leaders to “urgently change their orders to it, under the pretext of establishing global peace and the Nobel Prize!

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a video statement following the attack called on Qatar and all nations who harbor terrorists to expel them or... bring them to justice. Because if you don't, we will.

In the wake of Hamas’ October 7, 2023 attack, Israel launched a brutal military campaign against the Gaza Strip which has claimed the lives of nearly 65,000 Palestinians in under two years. Additionally, Israel has also carried out multiple airstrikes in Iran, Yemen, Lebanon, and most recently Qatar, under the pretext of targeting the so-called “Axis of Resistance.”

Larijani accused the Islamic countries of having “done nothing for the hungry and oppressed Muslims in Palestine,” claiming that by forming an operations room, the countries would at least avoid their own “annihilation”.
