ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq – Syrian interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa on Sunday said that he reached an agreement with Mazloum Abdi, Commander of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), adding that Syrian state institutions will enter all of Syria's geography.
Abdi and Sharaa were scheduled to meet Sunday, the pair however reached an agreement to cease fire over a phone call, after unsuitable weather conditions postponed the meeting, the Syrian president told reporters before signing the agreement.
Sharaa said that Syrian state institutions will enter all of Syria's territory, in response to a question inquiring whether Syrian government forces will enter the three provinces under the northeast Syria (Rojava) autonomous administration.
The agreement sees the peaceful handover of military and civilian institutions in Deir ez-Zor and Raqqa to the Syrian government, and the integration of Hasaka's civilian institutions into the Syrian state, among a wide range of other points. Below is a translated version of the document, as released by the Syrian information minister Hamza al-Mustafa on X.

The ceasefire puts an end to re-escalated hostilities between the two sides in eastern Aleppo on Saturday morning, after the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) accused the Damascus forces of violating an internationally-sponsored agreement, that would see the Kurdish-led force withdraw from eastern Aleppo, by entering Deir Hafer and Maskanah before its fighters had completed their withdrawal. The Syrian army, meanwhile, accused the SDF of attacking its positions in the area.
The clashes continued into Sunday, spilling over into Raqqa, with the Syrian government forces capturing the city of Tabqa.
The truce comes a day after US Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack and SDF's Mazloum Abdi visited Erbil on Saturday, where the pair met with top Kurdistan Region officials, including President Masoud Barzani to discuss resolving the tensions in Syria. Barrack met with Sharaa a day later on Sunday, hours before the announcement of the ceasefire.
Washington commended the Syrian interim government and SDF on reaching the truce. "The United States commends the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) for their constructive efforts in reaching today’s ceasefire agreement, paving the way for renewed dialogue and cooperation toward a unified Syria," Barrack said on X.
