"US forces struck ISIS infrastructure and weapons storage targets with precision munitions delivered by fixed-wing, rotary-wing, and unmanned aircraft," the command said in a report.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq – The US Central Command (CENTCOM) on Saturday announced that it had targeted 30 Islamic State (ISIS) positions in ten operations in Syria from February 3 to February 12, amid a heightened risk of a reemergence of the group in the wake of the instability in Syria.

"US forces struck ISIS infrastructure and weapons storage targets with precision munitions delivered by fixed-wing, rotary-wing, and unmanned aircraft," the command said in a report.

Washington began a retaliatory campaign against ISIS dubbed Operation Hawkeye Strike after a December attack in Syria's Palmyra by the extremist group killed three American nationals.

The report added that over "50 ISIS terrorists have been killed or captured and over 100 ISIS infrastructure targets have been struck with hundreds of precision munitions during two months of targeted operations."

During the January clashes between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian government, the Kurdish-led forces withdrew from facilities holding thousands of Islamic State (ISIS) members and their affiliates, including the notorious al-Hol camp, raising concerns of potential escapes as government forces took over.

Consequently, the US coordinated with Baghdad to transfer some 5,700 ISIS prisoners to Iraq, citing concern over the security situation in Syria, with the 23-day process ending on Friday.

CENTCOM on Thursday confirmed that its forces have departed the al-Tanf base in southeastern Syria as part of what it called an "orderly transition," while reiterating its commitment to maintaining pressure on the Islamist group.

Despite being territorially defeated in 2019, ISIS still poses a security threat across Syria, with the extremist group mostly resorting to hit-and-run attacks.

In 2025, ISIS carried out at least 11 plots or attacks against targets in the US, CENTCOM said in an earlier statement.

Syria joined the international coalition to defeat ISIS in November, becoming the body’s 90th partner to join the global fight against the group, with the move being hailed by US officials as a sign of Damascus' determination to assist in counterterrorism efforts.
