Hezbollah confirmed the deaths of six of its members: Hussein Mohammed Yaghi, Ali Zaid al-Moussawi, Mohammed Ibrahim Wahbi al-Moussawi, Sayyed Qassem Ali Mahdi, Hassanein Yasser al-Sablani, and Ahmad Hussein al-Haj Hassan.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq - Israeli airstrikes killed 10 people, including a Hezbollah official, and wounded about 50 others in Lebanon’s eastern Bekaa Valley, Lebanese and Israeli sources said on Saturday, with the Lebanese health ministry announcing that three children were among the dead.

The Israeli military said it targeted three Hezbollah sites in the Bekaa region, striking members of the group’s rocket unit. It accused the unit of violating ceasefire understandings and of planning attacks while boosting its operational readiness.

Hezbollah confirmed the deaths of six of its members: Hussein Mohammed Yaghi, Ali Zaid al-Moussawi, Mohammed Ibrahim Wahbi al-Moussawi, Sayyed Qassem Ali Mahdi, Hassanein Yasser al-Sablani, and Ahmad Hussein al-Haj Hassan.

Lebanese state media, citing the health ministry, said that three children were killed in the strikes.

Israeli newspaper Maariv reported that the strikes hit long-range missiles fitted with warheads that were ready for immediate operational deployment.

Hezbollah lawmaker Rami Abu Hamdan said the attack amounted to a “massacre” and called on Lebanese authorities to change their approach in defending the country.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the strikes, describing them as a violation of sovereignty and a breach of international commitments.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned what it described as Israeli aggression against Lebanon, saying more than 40 Lebanese and Palestinians were killed or wounded. Tehran also blamed Washington and Paris, which it said are guarantors of the ceasefire, for what it called direct responsibility.

The violence followed a separate incident on Friday, when Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported that an Israeli drone struck the Hittin neighborhood in the camp adjacent to the southern city of Sidon.

The Israeli military said that the strike targeted a Hamas command center operating in the Ain al-Hilweh area and described it as a response to repeated violations of ceasefire understandings.
