“We confirm that the American and NATO forces have completed their withdrawal from Camp Victory near Baghdad Airport via cargo planes and vehicles overland towards Jordan,” the Islamic Resistance in Iraq said in a statement.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq - The Islamic Resistance in Iraq on Monday claimed that US forces have “completed their withdrawal” from Camp Victory near Baghdad airport, warning that it will not allow any return of the American “occupation” forces throughout the current and future governments.

“We confirm that the American and NATO forces have completed their withdrawal from Camp Victory near Baghdad Airport via cargo planes and vehicles overland towards Jordan,” the network of pro-Iran militias said in a statement.

It added that the base “will be handed over to the Counter-Terrorism Service.”

“We will not allow the current government, or the future government, God willing, to allow the Americans and NATO to return to Iraq,” the Islamic Resistance said.

Camp Victory, a former US military base which was transformed into a diplomatic facility, has been frequently targeted since the launch of a US-Israeli military offensive against Iran in late February, with pro-Iran Iraqi armed groups claiming responsibility for the majority of the attacks.

On Thursday, Kataib Hezbollah, a powerful armed group and part of the Islamic Resistance, said it will halt attacks on the US Embassy in Baghdad in return for several conditions that included a halt to attacks in southern Beirut and residential areas in Baghdad.

The Islamic Resistance accused the American side of violating the truce by bombing positions belonging to the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), which is an umbrella group of Iraqi armed groups incorporated into the Iraqi state apparatus, many of which maintain strong ties to Iran.

“As is their custom of breaking promises, the Americans have resumed targeting [PMF] units. Therefore, we will continue to pursue them with fire in all their bases in West Asia.”

US strikes on Sunday targeted a PMF position in Babil's Jurf al-Sakhar days after the ceasefire proposal was announced by Kataib Hezbollah, leaving one member injured.

The strikes are part of a broader wave of attacks that have killed dozens of PMF members in recent weeks, including senior figures such as Kataib Hezbollah’s notorious security chief Abu Ali al-Askari.

Pro-Iran Iraqi groups operating under the umbrella of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq have repeatedly targeted US interests in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region since the start of the Iran war in late February, which prompted the retaliatory attacks.
