"Any development in the battle that requires a military response, we will promptly undertake it... just as we did in previous rounds," said Abdul Malik al-Houthi.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq - Abdul Malik al-Houthi, the leader of Yemen's Houthi rebels, said Thursday that his group is not neutral in the current regional conflict and will intervene should there be any developments that require "a military response."

A staunch Iranian ally and a component of the so-called "Axis of Resistance," the Houthis have as of yet failed to intervene in the hostilities following the US-Israeli military intervention in Iran despite supportive attacks by Lebanon's Hezbollah and pro-Iran factions in Iraq.

"Any development in the battle that requires a military response, we will promptly undertake it... just as we did in previous rounds," Houthi said in a statement

The Yemeni leader said his movement stands “with Islam and the Islamic nation,” framing its position as part of what he described as a broader struggle against Israel and the United States.

"Our position is clear and explicit against America and Israel, and we harbour no hostile intentions toward any Muslim country," coming amid Iranian targeting of regional Arab states.

He claimed that Iran’s actions are achieving their objectives by targeting US bases and Israeli interests, adding that cooperation at this stage serves the Palestinian cause, Lebanon, and efforts to counter threats facing countries such as Egypt, Jordan, and Gulf states.

Houthi stressed that Yemen is “not on the sidelines,” warning that any developments in the conflict that require military intervention would be met with action.

“We will not hesitate to carry out our duty,” he said, signaling readiness for further escalation.

He also called on Muslim countries to unite in confronting what he described as Israeli and US policies in the region, urging coordinated efforts to end what he called ongoing aggression.

Addressing supporters at home, Houthi urged Yemenis to take part in mass demonstrations on Friday, describing public mobilization as a show of solidarity and resilience.

Any Houthi participation in the conflict could further hamper global shipping lanes, which have already been disrupted by Iran's restriction of the Strait of Hormuz. The Houthis previously targeted ships in the Red Sea amid Israel's genocidal campaign in Gaza.
