ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Thursday vowed to continue the war against the US and Israel, saying the country’s advanced defense capabilities remain intact and secure, after US President Donald Trump threatened to bomb Iran “back to the Stone Ages.”
“In continuation of the powerful and unimaginable blows and slaps you have received so far, await our more crushing, more extensive, and more devastating actions,” Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for the IRGC’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said in an address published by state broadcaster IRIB.
He asserted that Iran’s “strategic military production” and its advanced defense capabilities remain secure “in areas that you have no knowledge of and will never be able to reach.”
“This war will continue until your permanent, definitive humiliation, regret, and surrender,” Zolfaghari said.
It followed remarks by US President Donald Trump on the war against Iran, which is nearly in its fifth week. Trump has described Iran as “the world’s number one state sponsor of terror.”
Trump stated that the US is going to hit Iran “extremely hard over the next two to three weeks” and that the country would be brought “back to the Stone Ages, where they belong.”
“Tonight, Iran’s navy is GONE. Their air force is in ruins. Their leaders, most of them - the terrorist regime they led - are now dead. Their command and control of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is being decimated as we speak,” he said.
On Wednesday, Trump said that Iran’s “new regime president” had requested a ceasefire, a request he would only consider if the Strait of Hormuz is opened.
In late March, Washington extended a deadline for the destruction of Iranian power plants as Iran and the US engage in talks under Pakistan’s mediation, while Tehran has denied considering them as official talks between the two sides.
