“ Radioactive fallout will end life in GCC [Gulf Cooperation Council] capitals, not Tehran,” Araghchi said.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq - Following another US-Israeli attack on Iran’s only operational nuclear power plant that killed at least one person, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned on Saturday that radioactive fallout would “end life” in Gulf capitals, not Tehran.

“Remember the Western outrage about hostilities near Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine? Israel-US have bombed our Bushehr plant four times now. Radioactive fallout will end life in GCC [Gulf Cooperation Council] capitals, not Tehran,” Araghchi said.

The strikes near the power plant killed at least one staff member, Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization said, as the US and Israel continue targeting energy infrastructure throughout the country.

“This is the fourth attack on the facility during the war; core sections remain intact,” the organization said.

Bushehr is the only operational nuclear power plant and it was completed with Russian help. Following the attack, Russia started an evacuation process of 198 personnel, according to Russian state media.

“As planned, we began the main phase of the evacuation today. About 20 minutes after that ill-fated strike, buses set off from Bushehr station towards the Iranian-Armenian border. 198 people, to be precise -- this is the largest evacuation,” Russia's nuclear corporation Rosatom head Alexey Likhachev told TASS news agency.

The US-Israel war with Iran has entered its second month as strikes across Iran and its retaliatory strikes across the region continue.

US President Donald Trump on Saturday gave Iran 48 hours to make a deal as talks mediated by Pakistan have restarted, otherwise threatening that “all Hell will reign down on them.”
