The Islamic Republic of Iran has a doctrine regarding its military and security issues, which tries to view neighboring countries as neighbors and kind and compassionate, but in this doctrine, it has a label of its own, and that is that it views some places as hostile bases, and it will no longer view them in the previous way," said Ali Khezrian.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq – Iran’s Ali Khezrian from parliament’s National Security Commission said Thursday that the Kurdistan Region has been labeled as a site of “hostile bases” under Tehran’s security doctrine, warning that the UAE has been placed under the same designation, warranting preemptive strikes.

Since the start of the US-Israel war with Iran, the Kurdistan Region, despite maintaining a neutral stance, has been targeted by hundreds of drone and missile attacks, which have continued amid a shaky ceasefire between the warring parties.

In late April, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) said the region had been targeted in 809 attacks since the start of the war, under what it described as “unfounded pretexts.”

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has a doctrine regarding its military and security issues, which tries to view neighboring countries as neighbors and kind and compassionate, but in this doctrine, it has a label of its own, and that is that it views some places as hostile bases, and it will no longer view them in the previous way,” Khezrian said during an interview with the state broadcaster aired on Thursday.

“In my opinion, what is happening with the Emirates is like Iran's military doctrine regarding the Kurdistan Region,” the hardliner lawmaker added, referring to repeated attacks on the Kurdistan Region.

He further described Iranian actions as driven by “national stability and security,” saying they are consistent with Tehran’s “military security doctrine regarding the Kurdistan Region,” and claiming they are intended to “neutralize any action in enemy military bases before it can become an action.”

In late April, the KRG also rejected Iranian allegations that foreign intelligence services were conducting training operations in the region against Iran, describing the claims as “creating unnecessary tension.”

“Linking the Kurdistan Region to such matters is unfounded and does not reflect the reality on the ground,” the KRG said.

“Iran's security equation regarding the Kurdistan Region will now also include the UAE, and they must be waiting at any moment and at any time for the Islamic Republic of Iran to sense any enemy base in the UAE, just as it attacks enemy bases in Erbil, and that it will also want to take action against Iran and organize, and we will attack it,” Khezrian said.

In recent days, the UAE said it has also come under Iranian attack following weeks of relative calm across the region following a fragile April 8 US-Iran ceasefire.

Abu Dhabi was severely affected by Iranian attacks during the war period, along with other countries in the region.

“The label of our neighborhood with the UAE has been set aside for now, and the label of a hostile base has been attached to this country,” Khezrian added.

The UAE Ministry of Defense said Friday that its air defense systems were "actively engaging" Iranian missile and UAV threats, noting the sounds heard across the country are the result of "ongoing interception operations" against missiles and drones.
