“I had a very productive call with Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, of Israel, and there will be no Troops going to Beirut, and any Troops that are on their way, have already been turned back,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, adding that Hezbollah has also "agreed that all shooting will stop — That Israel will not attack them, and they will not attack Israel.”

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq - US President Donald Trump said on Monday that he called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hezbollah, with the planned Israeli attack on Beirut having been called off and both sides agreeing to stop attacking each other.

“I had a very productive call with Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, of Israel, and there will be no Troops going to Beirut, and any Troops that are on their way, have already been turned back,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The statement came after the Israeli military issued an evacuation notice to the residents of Southern Beirut’s Dahieh suburbs earlier on Monday, threatening to target the area should Hezbollah continue to launch strikes on “Israeli cities and towns.”

Hours later, Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters warned residents in northern Israel and its military settlements to evacuate the area, should Israel go through with its threats to bomb southern Beirut under the pretext of targeting Hezbollah.

“Through highly placed Representatives, I had a very good call with Hezbollah,” the US president added, asserting that the armed group had “agreed that all shooting will stop — That Israel will not attack them, and they will not attack Israel.”

In response to the Israeli threats, Iran announced earlier in the day that it has halted communications through mediators with the US and moved to “completely” blockade the Strait of Hormuz, and to “activate” Yemen’s Bab al-Mandab Strait.

Speaking to NBC, Trump said that the suspension of talks “doesn’t mean we’re going to start dropping bombs over there, we’ll just go silent, we’ll keep the [maritime] blockade.”

Iran has maintained time and again that Lebanon is an integral part of its negotiations with the US, and any ceasefire, or permanent agreement must also resolve the conflict in Lebanon.
