In a statement, the Iranian foreign ministry “strongly condemned the aggressive act of the US terrorist army in attacking an Iranian tanker in the Strait of Hormuz and attacking a telecommunications mast on Qeshm Island,” which took place in the early hours of Wednesday

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq – Tehran on Wednesday strongly condemned Washington’s “aggressive attacks” on Iranian sites on Qeshm Island, highlighting the “direct and clear responsibility” of the Kuwaiti and Bahraini leadership in facilitating the attacks.

In a statement, the Iranian foreign ministry “strongly condemned the aggressive act of the US terrorist army in attacking an Iranian tanker in the Strait of Hormuz and attacking a telecommunications mast on Qeshm Island,” which took place in the early hours of Wednesday

The attack purportedly originated from “the two countries in the region,” according to the statement, referring to Kuwait and Bahrain.

The ministry accused the US of violating the shaky ceasefire in place between the two sides, which has been indefinitely extended since its original expiration date in April, as well as the UN Charter and international law.

Tehran noted the “direct and clear responsibility of the rulers of Kuwait and Bahrain in relation to last night's aggressive acts,” emphasizing that countries permitting Washington to use their territory and station forces “is considered an act of aggression against Iran.”

Iran “will use all capacities to confront acts of aggression, including by targeting the origin and source of aggressive attacks,” the statement asserted.

The remarks came after separate offensives in Kuwait and Bahrain on Wednesday, which the countries blamed on “Iranian aggression.”

Kuwait International Airport was targeted with a series of drones, which resulted in the injury of several individuals and inflicted heavy material damage to the terminal, according to a defense ministry statement.

Meanwhile, the Bahraini military said it intercepted several drones in its airspace, citing the “brutal Iranian aggression” for the offensive.

Earlier on Wednesday, the US military said it carried out “self-defense strikes” in response to the renewed Iranian missile strikes against regional countries.

On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump said that talks with Iran “have been going on continuously,” after Iranian semi-official media said no direct “exchange of messages” with the US was taking place, noting that talks had been halted “for at least a few days.”

Trump on Saturday said he is “in no hurry” to make a deal with Iran, adding that military action against the country is still on the table, as the two warring sides move closer to a potential deal.
