Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region Masrour Barzani on Thursday arrived in Baghdad and met with the Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani and several other federal officials.
During his meeting with PM Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani, both leaders focused on several key issues, including the overall situation in Iraq and the need to resolve outstanding issues between the Kurdistan Region and the Federal Government through constructive dialogue and understanding, in accordance with the constitution, according to a statement from Barzani’s office.

Both leaders agreed on the importance of continuing constructive dialogue to resolve disputes in a manner that benefits all Iraqi citizens, regardless of their diverse backgrounds.
In a separate meeting, Barzani met with Iraqi National Security Advisor Qassem al-Araji, the discussions centered on the security situation in Iraq, particularly the ongoing threats posed by terrorism.
Both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination and cooperation between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Federal Government in this regard.
“The Kurdistan Region is a constitutional entity, and its strength contributes to the strength of Iraq as a whole,” Araji said, stressing the need for a better relationship between the Kurdistan Region and the Federal Government.

Prime Minister Barzani expressed his “gratitude to the National Security Advisor for the warm reception and praised the good coordination on security matters between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government.”
“We won't allow any group to destabilize our neighbors. Terrorism is a forgotten threat that needs stronger security coordination,” Barzani tweeted following his meeting with Araji, during which he was presented with a flag of the Kurdistan Region.

In another meeting, Prime Minister Barzani met with Hadi al-Amiri, Secretary-General of Badr Organization and head of the Nabni Coalition, in Baghdad.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Barzani and the Secretary-General of Badr Organization, agreed to continue coordination and joint cooperation between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government to resolve outstanding issues.
