ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq - Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Wednesday struck a base belonging to an Iranian Kurdish opposition group in Erbil with a ballistic missile, wounding at least six members, a party official said.

Amjad Hossein Panahi, a Politburo member of Komala of the Toilers of Kurdistan (Zahmatkeshan), told The New Region that the missile hit one of the party's bases in the Alana Valley of Erbil province's Soran administration at 6:50 pm.

Panahi said the wounded had been transferred to hospital, with the severity of their injuries remaining unclear at the time of writing.

The Kurdistan Region has once again become a target of Iranian attacks following renewed hostilities between Tehran and Washington, with strikes focusing on US interests and the bases of Iranian Kurdish opposition groups.

Hossein Panahi said the latest attack brings the total number of missiles and drones fired by Iran at the party's positions since the onset of the US-Iran war in late February to more than 94.

Ten members of Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan (Shorshger) were killed in another Iranian missile strike in Sulaimani province's Tanjaro area on Friday.

The Kurdistan Region came under hundreds of drone and missile attacks by Iran and its Iraqi proxies from late February until Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum of understanding in mid-June. Attacks resumed after hostilities between the two sides flared again on July 8, just 21 days after the agreement was signed.
