Leader of Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq, showed support for Yemen's Houthis on Sunday after Israeli airstrikes on Hodeidah, following a Houthi drone attack on Tel Aviv.

Qais al-Khazali, leader of the Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq party, has visited the Houthis' Baghdad headquarters and condemned Israeli aggression.

He expressed solidarity with Yemen's Ansar Allah Houthis on Sunday following an Israeli airstrike on Hodeidah in Yemen.

Al-Khazali announced his support via the X platform, formerly known as Twitter, stating, "In solidarity with our proud Yemeni people against the recent Zionist aggression, we visited the headquarters of the Ansar Allah movement in Baghdad and met with brother Abu Idris al-Sharafi, who conveyed the greetings of His Eminence Sayyid Abdul-Malik al-Houthi. We extend our respect, appreciation, and prayers for victory to him and all the Yemeni people against the enemies of Islam and humanity."

He posted photos from his visit, showing him wearing a traditional Yemeni "Janbiya" dagger and holding a banner that read "Death to America... Death to Israel."

The meeting came shortly after Israeli airstrikes targeted what they described as "military sites belonging to the Houthis" in Hodeidah.

Tensions between Israel and Yemen's Houthi movement have escalated significantly following recent events. On Saturday, Israeli airstrikes targeted the city of Hodeidah in western Yemen, resulting in several fatalities and casualties.

The airstrikes, coordinated with the United States and the Global Coalition, hit oil refining facilities and civilian sites, according to Houthi sources.

The military action followed a Houthi drone attack on Tel Aviv that killed an Israeli and injured several others. The Houthis claimed the attack, asserting their ability to strike targets within Israel and vowing continued support for Gaza amid ongoing Israeli military operations there.

In response, the Houthis have targeted Israeli and allied shipping in the Red Sea and beyond, while the Global Coalition led by the US has conducted strikes on Houthi positions in Yemen.

The situation marks a significant escalation in regional hostilities, with both sides promising further actions.
