Iran warned Israel on Sunday against any new military "adventures" in Lebanon, which could lead to "unpredictable consequences."
This warning followed a rocket strike on the occupied Golan Heights, which Israel has blamed on Hezbollah.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani said any "ignorant move by the Zionist regime could lead to increased instability, insecurity, and war in the region."
He emphasized that Israel would bear responsibility for the "unexpected consequences and reactions to such foolish actions."
On Saturday, the Israeli military reported that 12 people aged between 10 and 20 were killed by a rocket strike on a football field in the town of Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights.
Israel has occupied the area since 1967 and annexed it. Many Druze residents of the town have refused Israeli citizenship.
Thousands attended the funeral for the rocket strike victims in Majdal Shams on Sunday. Mourners, including women dressed in traditional black abayas and white headscarves, gathered around coffins draped in white.
Syria also on Sunday blamed Israel for the attack that killed at least 12 people in Majdal Shams.
In a statement, the Syrian Foreign Ministry said, "As part of its attempts to escalate the situation in our region and expand its aggression, the Israeli occupation entity committed a heinous crime in the city of Majdal Shams in the occupied Syrian Golan yesterday (Saturday), then blamed its crime on the Lebanese national resistance," referring to Hezbollah.
The ministry condemned Israel's actions and held it responsible for the "dangerous escalation."
Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee said, "Field indicators point to Hezbollah firing a Falaq-1 rocket towards Majdal Shams."
He added that "no other terrorist organization in Lebanon possesses this type of rocket" and held Hezbollah responsible for the deaths in Majdal Shams.
Hezbollah denied responsibility for the strike, stating it had no connection to the incident.
