Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf arrived in Beirut on Saturday, reaffirming Iran’s commitment to supporting Lebanon's government, people, and Hezbollah.

DUBAI, UAE - Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf arrived in Beirut on Saturday for a high-profile visit, signaling Iran's continued support for Lebanon amid escalating regional tensions.

“Our message to the Lebanese people is that we will continue to stand by Lebanon - its government, people, and resistance - and we will be at their service in difficult times,” said Ghalibaf upon his arrival, emphasizing Tehran’s commitment to supporting Lebanon as it navigates ongoing challenges.

Ghalibaf is expected to meet with Lebanese officials to discuss strengthening cooperation and coordinating efforts to address the country's pressing issues.

Regional security concerns, including the ongoing Israeli bombardment and its impact on Lebanon, are expected to be the main topics of discussion.

The visit comes at a critical time for Lebanon, as the country grapples with political instability and economic hardship. The increased tension in the region, particularly regarding Israel, has further complicated the security situation.

In coordination with Ghalibaf’s visit, the Iranian Red Crescent sent medical supplies to Lebanon, and more than 8,000 specialized doctors have expressed readiness to assist in both Lebanon and Syria.

The president of the Iranian Red Crescent reported that after assessing the healthcare situation in Lebanon, the organization observed a shortage of medical facilities and has decided to establish temporary healthcare centers.

He also revealed that Israeli drone strikes had damaged the Iranian hospital in Lebanon, destroying medical supplies and ambulances. The Red Crescent notified the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) about these violations of international law and plans to continue providing services.
