US President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to say that both Iran and Israel will now “see tremendous LOVE, PEACE, and PROSPERITY in their futures" after he announced that hostilities between the warring sides would come to an end.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq – Israel and Iran on Tuesday confirmed that they have agreed to a ceasefire proposed by US President Donald Trump, bringing twelve days of conflict to a close.

The ceasefire was first announced unilaterally by Trump on his Truth Social platform, where he detailed that the ending of hostilities would follow a staggered timeline whereby Iran would start the ceasefire six hours after the announcement, Israel would follow at twelve hours, and finally, an official truce at 24 hours.

The US president then wrote on Tuesday morning that “THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!”

Iranian state media has reported that Tehran has agreed to the truce, with the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also confirming that Tel Aviv would also cease its strikes “in light of achieving the objectives" of its campaign, adding that it will “react with force” to any violation.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi previously said that the ceasefire had yet to be officially agreed upon, but “provided that the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 AM Tehran time, we have no intention to continue our response afterwards.”

The top diplomat later said that Iran’s military operations “to punish Israel for its aggression continued until the very last minute, at 4 AM [local time].”

Israel reported a series of missile launches from Iran and an impact in Beersheba overnight and added that it had struck Iranian missile launchers and other targets in exchange.

In additional posts on Truth Social, President Trump said that Israel and Iran approached him “almost simultaneously” to seek peace, adding that “[b]oth Nations will see tremendous LOVE, PEACE, AND PROSPERITY in their futures” should they remain “on the road of RIGHTEOUSNESS and TRUTH.”

Trump continued by saying that the US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities on Saturday in a “very ironic way… brought everyone together, and the deal was made!!!”

The rapid change of course to a ceasefire came after Iran targeted the Al-Udeid airbase that hosts a strong US military presence in Qatar on Monday

In a post on Truth Social, Trump described the Iranian attack as “a very weak response, which we expected, and have very effectively countered,” confirming that no Qatar or US citizens were killed in the strikes.

“I want to thank Iran for giving us early notice, which made it possible for no lives to be lost, and nobody to be injured,” said Trump, implying that the US had foreknowledge of the strikes.
