Khaje Aziz, 67, has spent six decades of her life among the walnut trees in her orchard in Penjwen's Siya Gweza village.

The fall season arrived early this year, she told The New Region, motivating her to wake up early and collect the orchard's yield.

Walnut trees thrive on the border between the Kurdistan Region and Iran. Certain places in Penjwen, like Siya Gweza, and Halabja's Hawraman get covered with fruitful walnut trees as fall spreads its wings over the region every year
