Haji Mariwan, nicknamed the "exemplary farmer" by fellow farmers in the Sharazoor region of Sulaimani, says the soil of Said Sadiq is "first-rate" for pomegranates. 

25 young men harvest the pomegranates in his orchard early in the morning and send them to the markets of Kurdistan and southern Iraq.

"This year, we will put sour and juicy pomegranates on the platters of every home," Sharazoor's model farmer tells The New Region.
