Farmers in the Kurdistan Region harvest the season’s first yield of pomegranates as orchards begin to bear fruit with the arrival of fall, before loading them into crates, transporting them to the city, and selling their harvest.
The Sharazoor region with its fertile lands produces thousands of tons of pomegranates, enough not only to fulfill the Kurdistan Region's local markets, but to also export them to central and southern Iraq, as well as the Gulf countries.
