Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces said airstrikes targeted two of its brigades on Monday in northern Iraq and eastern Anbar, causing material damage but no casualties.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq - Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) said Monday that two of its brigades were targeted in airstrikes it described as “US-Israeli aggression,” with no reported casualties.

In a statement, the PMF said positions belonging to its 15th Brigade under the North and East Tigris Operations Command were struck at around 11:30 am, with the attack hitting rear positions. It added that the damage was limited to material losses.

The group added in a separate statement that its 27th Brigade under the East Anbar Operations Command was also targeted in a similar strike, again reporting no casualties and only material damage.

The PMF said its forces continue to carry out their duties in protecting the area, maintaining security and stability, and preserving Iraq’s sovereignty despite the ongoing attacks.

The strikes are part of a broader wave of attacks that have killed dozens of PMF members in recent weeks, including senior figures such as Kataib Hezbollah security chief Abu Ali al-Askari.

Badr Organization Secretary-General Hadi al-Amiri on Thursday said that more than 60 PMF members have been killed and over 100 wounded in attacks by the United States and Israel in recent weeks.

Pro-Iran Iraqi groups operating under the umbrella of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq have repeatedly targeted US interests in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region since the start of the Iran war in late February, prompting retaliatory strikes.

Many factions within the Islamic Resistance in Iraq have been officially incorporated into the Iraqi state security apparatus as part of the PMF.
