According to the semi-official Tasnim News Agency, the Iranian response emphasized the necessity of an immediate end to the war, ensuring that Iran will not be attacked again, the lifting of US sanctions, and the Iranian control of the Strait of Hormuz.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq – US President Donald Trump on Monday rejected the Iranian response to the US peace proposal, dubbing it “TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!” as both sides struggle to reach an understanding on a permanent peace deal.

Iranian representatives on Sunday responded through Pakistani mediation to a US peace proposal focused on “ending the war and maritime security.”

“I have just read the response from Iran’s so-called 'Representatives,'” Trump wrote on Truth Social hours after Iranian media reported the response had been delivered to Washington, reiterating his longstanding insistence of disarray in the Iranian leadership and gripes regarding a lack of clear negotiating partners.

“I don’t like it — TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!” he said.

According to the semi-official Tasnim News Agency, citing informed sources, the Iranian response emphasized the necessity of an immediate end to the war, ensuring that Iran will not be attacked again, the lifting of US sanctions, and the Iranian control of the Strait of Hormuz.

Earlier on Sunday, Trump denied suggestions that combat operations are over in Iran, and hinted at a possible two-week campaign aimed at “specific targets,” noting, “We could go in for two more weeks and do every single target.”

Recent skirmishes have also taken place in the Iranian ports, and especially the strategic Strait of Hormuz, amid US enforcement of a blockade in the waterway and Iranian maritime restrictions.

Iran had sent the US a 14-point peace proposal last week, according to the semi-official Iranian Fars News agency, which was a response to an earlier peace plan by the US as part of ongoing exchanges between the two sides through Pakistani mediators.

Negotiations between Washington and Tehran have stalled since the ceasefire began, with no clear timeline for when face-to-face talks might resume.
