"American forces are not impeding the transit of vessels to or from Iranian ports on the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman," CENTCOM said in a statement.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq - US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced Thursday that the naval blockade on Iran has been lifted and that “all US military blockade enforcement efforts have ceased,” following orders from President Donald Trump.

In a statement posted on X, CENTCOM said, “American forces are not impeding the transit of vessels to or from Iranian ports on the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman.”

“Today, US forces lifted the blockade on all maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports and coastal areas, in accordance with the President's direction,” the statement said.

CENTCOM added that “all US military blockade enforcement efforts have ceased,” marking an end to restrictions on maritime traffic to and from Iranian ports.

The command said US naval forces would remain in the region to oversee implementation of the agreement.

The announcement comes after US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian remotely signed an agreement early Thursday aimed at ending the conflict between their countries and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Under the 14-point agreement, both sides committed to a total ceasefire across all theaters, including Lebanon, and agreed to negotiate a final settlement within 60 days.

The deal also provides for the immediate lifting of the US naval blockade and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who mediated the talks, saying, “As a first step, Islamic Republic of Iran will instantly reopen the Strait of Hormuz and the United States of America will immediately lift the naval blockade.”

The agreement further includes the lifting of US sanctions, the unfreezing of Iranian assets, authorization for Iranian oil exports, and an Iranian commitment not to pursue a nuclear weapon.

The blockade was implemented on April 13 following the beginning of a ceasefire between the US and Iran, with CENTCOM, in their final update on June 14, saying that 142 vessels were redirected and nine disabled after failing to comply with American dictates.
