“Moments ago, one of the bases of the Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan in the Khalifan region was once again targeted in a drone strike,” the party said. “Fortunately, no casualties have been reported,” it added.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq – Drones targeted a base belonging to the Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan in Erbil province’s Soran administration on Saturday night, the party said, adding that the strikes resulted in no casualties.

“Moments ago, one of the bases of the Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan in the Khalifan region was once again targeted in a drone strike,” the party said. “Fortunately, no casualties have been reported,” it added.

Footage circulating on social media purportedly showed at least two drones striking the Alana Valley in Erbil’s Soran administration.

The Kurdistan Region has long insisted upon its neutrality in the broader regional conflict and repeatedly condemned Iranian strikes.

On Monday, a camp belonging to another opposition group, the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran (KDPI) in Erbil’s Koya district, also came under attack by two drones.

In May, Tehran declared the Kurdistan Region a site of “hostile bases” under its security doctrine, making it subject to preemptive strikes.

The Kurdistan Region has been targeted by hundreds of drone and missile strikes since the outbreak of the US-Israeli war on Iran in February. Despite the warring parties having significantly wound down their attacks, the Region continues to be targeted.

A missile strike targeting the same opposition group's base in Sulaimani's Zirgwezala area in the Tanjaro subdistrict killed at least 10 people in July, marking the deadliest attack on the Kurdistan Region since the start of the US-Israel war with Iran.
