Iraq to lose 5,500 MW amid temporary Iranian gas supply shutdown
A 15-day maintenance shutdown of Iranian gas supplies will cut 5,500 megawatts from Iraq’s power grid, impacting Baghdad, the central region, and Middle Euphrates region. With gas flows from Iran reduced to seven million cubic meters per day, far below the agreed 25 million, the electricity ministry is coordinating with the oil ministry to mitigate the shortfall.
