ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Tuesday said it targeted a US base in Kuwait, where it “struck and destroyed” US military assets. Meanwhile, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) also announced another wave of strikes completed against Iran.

The IRGC said in a statement that it hit the Ahmed al-Jabar base located in Kuwait, where it “struck and destroyed” US radar systems, a Patriot air defense system, and a satellite communication system.

“With this radar strike, the enemy must prepare for even more decisive and devastating attacks from drones and missiles,” it added.

The exchange of attacks for the tenth consecutive day has further cracked a preliminary peace deal signed between Washington and Tehran to end the war, with both sides seeking to assert control over the Strait of Hormuz.

Free navigation in the strait was one of Washington’s key demands in the memorandum of understanding. 

Also on Tuesday, CENTCOM announced another wave of strikes against Iran, targeting “military command centers, maritime capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and air defense systems to degrade Iran's ability to continue attacking commercial vessels flowing through the Strait of Hormuz.”

The renewed fighting started nearly two weeks ago, after CENTCOM alleged that Iran had “blatantly attacked” the M/V GFS Galaxy, a Cyprus-flagged container ship transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

At least 17 American soldiers have been killed since the conflict erupted in February, according to CENTCOM figures, while Iran’s health ministry said that more than 50 people have been killed in the recent eruption of fighting. 

On Sunday, CENTCOM announced the death of another US service member in Iraq the day prior, after also confirming two service members killed in Jordan. 

On Monday, US President Donald Trump said, "Every time Iran kills an American Soldier they will pay for that killing many times over!"

On the same day, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned that the country “is engaged in a full-scale war that extends well beyond missile strikes.”

US airstrikes on Iran have also killed more than 50 people and injured 500 others since their resumption, the health ministry said Saturday, adding that two children under the age of 18 were among those killed.
