The KRG Board of Investment announced the Infinix manufacturing facility will make 30,000 smartphones on a monthly basis, describing it the largest across the Middle East

 
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region of Iraq - The Board of Investment of the Kurdistan Region on Friday announced that “the biggest” Infinix Mobile manufacturing company across the Middle East started production in Erbil.
 
“The biggest smartphone manufacturing facility across the Middle East started production in Erbil,” read a statement from the KRG Board of Investment on Friday. 
 
The production will vastly be done by domestic manpower with the help of Chinese experts. 
 
“The factory, the first of its kind to manufacture smartphones across the Middle East, will produce 30,000 cellphones with the help of Chinese technological experts on a monthly basis,” the statement added. 
 
It also said the factory has created tens of jobs.
 
“Ninety-seven percent of the manpower is domestic, including a large number of Yazidi survivors,” the Board of Investment detailed.  
 
Transsion Holdings, a Hong Kong-based smartphone manufacturer, created Infinix Mobile in 2013.
 
Infinix smartphones that run the Android operating system are made in France, India, Brazil, Korea, China, and Pakistan and are sold in Asia and over 30 Middle Eastern and African nations.
